Dr Karleah McCartney BVSc (Hons 1), graduated from the University of Queensland in 2007 and has been working in the local area with dogs, cats, birds, and small pets since 2009. Karleah has a special interest in oncology and internal medicine and loves meeting clients and their pets. 

Karleah lives with her husband Josh, daughter Olivia and her very own fur baby Boots, a five year old, ball crazy Kelpie. Boots also happens to be the best dog in the world :)

Karleah opened the doors of Tea Gardens Veterinary Hospital in Dec 2015, fulfilling a life long dream of treating and providing high quality veterinary care close to her home town. She is able to provide full time veterinary services to the Tea Gardens area for the first time such as surgery, dental procedures, X-Ray and in hospital medical care.

Ashleigh worked at Myall St Veterinary Hospital for the past four years and brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience. She has been nursing for 20 years and always has your animal's best interest at heart.  


When not at work Ashleigh enjoys spending time with her family, and taking the second best dog in the world, Becky, for a play at the beach.


Ashleigh is a Tea Gardens local and is looking forward to providing additional veterinary services in the area.

Tea Gardens Veterinary Hospital aims to offer best practice medicine and service to all our clients.   We are open and have a full-time veterinarian available to care for your pet 5 days a week, 9am until 5pm. Keep looking back to see the hospital team grow over the coming years.

Our after hours services are provided by the Newcastle Animal Referral and Emergency Centre at 4 Lang Rd, Broadmeadow, OR 4 Garnett Rd, Greenhills.

Opening Hours

Emma is completing her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and has been part of the Tea Gardens Veterinary Hospital Team behind the scenes for more than 12months .


Emma has 3 cats; Artie, Luna & Khloe. This fur team are the most beautiful in the world. While not looking after her fur family Emma enjoys playing flute in a band and watching Netflix.

Emma Thomas

Megan completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2012 and as been part of the team at Tea Gardens Veterinary Hospital since early 2017.


Megan has a mischievous cat called Teddy- who like chasing her down the hallway to "play". Teddy happens to be the naughtiest cat in the world.


On weekends Megan likes spending time with family and friends, planning holidays and trekking.
